Toyota GD6 2.4 & 2.8 Performance Chip – Get up to 30% more Power!
Want more power for your Toyota Hilux? Tuning specialists, Steves Auto Clinic(SAC), has unveiled its latest Unichip Plug and Play performance upgrades for both the 2.4 GD-6 and 2.8 GD-6 verions of the new Hilux.
According to SAC, the 110kW/400Nm 2.4 GD-6 variant can be increased to 135kW/480Nm.
The 2.8 GD-6 goes from 130kW/450Nm in two stages to 145kW/505Nm with an entry level chip and 170kW/575Nm with the top-of-the-range advanced Revolution chip option.
Five engine maps
SAC said: “The advanced Revolution Unichip Plug and Play performance upgrade also offers five different engine maps (programmes) that have all been thoroughly tested and proven in South African conditions by the SAC test engineers.”
The first map is the Anti-Theft option that renders your Hilux unable to be started, and this is followed by map two that allows for standard operation (“exactly as the two engines left the factory”), while the third map is optimised for the best fuel consumption you can expect from your 2.4 GD-6 and 2.8 GD-6.
The third and fourth maps are Off-Road and Towing selection, which changes the engines’ operation for low-down grunt and which makes the engine very responsive to even the slightest touch of the accelerator.
Finally, the final map unleashes the full potential of 2.4 GD-6 and 2.8 GD-6 engines fitted with upgrade chips.
On the 2.8 GD-6 Map 3 (Fuel Economy Option) and Map 5 (High Power Option) are also seamlessly integrated on the Toyota factory fitted Eco & PWR Mode button that are fitted standard in the vehicles
