The desperate need for specialists in the fast growing diesel powered light commercial and leisure industry is well documented and suitably addressed now days via our diesel outlets.

The need in the trucking fraternity was even more desperate, but there was absolutely no one in the country who had an infrastructure to accommodate these giants, or to diagnose and properly optimise them.

The SAC Truck Workshop is completely focused on meeting our individual client’s needs within a specifically and uniquely South African operating environment.

SAC’s truck dyna tuning facility is a complete diagnostic solution for today’s electronically & mechanically controlled trucks.

A Dynamometer is really only a tool with which a technician can measure.

While this sounds simple it needs to be said that a technician with the aid of a Dyna can simulate any road condition for as long as is necessary with any driving style or throttle position. i.e. up a long hill, full throttle, in top gear.

When we say a technician can measure we don’t only mean power and torque, he can measure anything he wants to against real driving conditions.

There are many engine monitoring systems available today, the question is, do they monitor what counts, and once a particularly dangerous situation is detected, what then.

SAC offers a Safe Power engine management system which actually controls engine operating temperatures if need be or if so desired will simply warn the driver.

The most important piece of equipment in our range is the Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge - “EGT” Gauge - which displays, at all times, the actual temperature of the combustion and can be preset to warn the driver if and when this temperature is in danger zone.

A test on our chassis dyna will enable us to determine the cause of the excessive temperature and to rectify the problem immediately.

Once we have diagnosed that there is damage to any of the engine components, we are able to rebuild a damaged engine to the same specifications as the factory one at a greatly reduced cost.

Should the need arise for a truck’s pump and / or injectors to be removed, whether to be serviced or repaired, this is done in our in-house, state of the art, ADCO pump room.

Downtime is minimised and quality control is far more effective simply because the components don’t need to leave our premises.

We are able to make quick, accurate decisions whether or not to replace the components or to simply refurbish and save money.

Our involvement over the past five years or so with intercoolers for light commercial vehicles has become big, to say the least.

Today we manufacture and sell over 100 intercoolers every month and soon intend to expand the entire range.

All our expertise in this field will not go unused in the trucking industry.

The intercoolers used on trucks are similar only much bigger to that of the LDV’s.

Replacing a damaged cooler is very costly so needless to say we would always try to repair a cooler to the same specification as a new one, if possible.

One of the biggest advantages of being able to stand in front of a truck while simulating a road condition, is that intercooler leaks or malfunctions can easily be detected and repaired.

While we are able to monitor several temperature values or pressures depending on a specific test we are able to pinpoint a problem immediately and then of course after it has been rectified we can verify that the problem has been resolved and provide a comprehensive report which indicates the before and after information.

The beauty about the SAC Chassis Truck Dyna is that all this happens while the truck is safely secured and stationery in a controlled environment.

Turbocharger fatigue or failure can result in further engine destruction if not detected in time.

Once again, because we are able to measure the performance of a turbo while under load, we can determine whether or not the components can be repaired or refurbished.

Sourcing parts at competitive prices often results in saving large amounts of money and at SAC, this is a second nature.
