The Volkswagen Citi Golf range has been extended with the introduction of an exciting special edition, the 1.4i Xcite, and at last, a driver’s airbag across the range.

The new Citi 1.4i Xcite special edition is based on the 1.4i Citi Sport and has been enhanced with a Lighting Audio sound package. Lightning Audio is a subsidiary of Rockford Fosgate.

The new Citi 1.4i Xcite’s sound system consists of 2-way door mounted speakers, an amplifier mounted under the passenger front seat and subwoofer mounted in the luggage compartment.

The Citi 1.4i Xcite special edition will offer as standard, features such as colour coded side mirrors, black side striping, 3-spoke steering wheel and sports seats.

After 25 years in the South African market, Citi Golf remains the ‘people’s favourite car’. In 2008, 15 878 Citi Golfs were sold in South Africa, which placed the Citi range firmly in the top five of the overall bestselling vehicles in the country and comfortably, third most popular in the small / light car category.

Over the years, the ubiquitous Citi Golf range has been acknowledged by the Kinsey report for its prudent cost of ownership which has made it the best value for money vehicle in its segment.

The new Citi range comes with the standard 3 year / 120 000 km warranty. Volkswagen AutoMotion maintenance and service plans are optional.
