These vehicles have been popular
for conversions over the past few years within
the SAC group but given the extremely long gearing
the power increase simply wasn't enough. |
Extensive
testing has been completed around the Jeep
Wrangler Air Intake System and the Throttle
body. |
We found the vehicle to be very starved
of air and made some changes. |
A throttle body enlargement
from a reducing standard 60mm went to 63mm through
out, this made a huge improvement however a further
10mm in diameter was what it wanted. |
A prototype
73mm throttle body was fitted with a enlarged
Inlet duct from the Air Filter to the Throttle. |
|
The
complete conversion adds ± 33kW to the
already impressive 130kW. |
Now
the vehicle manages the long gearing with more
ease. |
Further development is underway to change
the Rocher Ratios to enable the large intake and
exhaust valves to open even further – watch
this space. |
| The Wrangler in both Manual and Automatic form
needs as much power as is available to suit the
gearing 100% not to mention to reduce the very
excessive fuel consumption. |
| We have already seen
fuel savings off up to 20% and more depending
on driving style. |
All
this and the vehicle is still reliable and smooth
as it should be for a 4X4 hero. |
