Extra Power on tap for the 4L V6 Ford
As usual, our ongoing development effort and passion to be and remain the leaders in the “reliable performance enhancement” industry has unveiled yet another innovation.
This time the V6 4 L Ford came back into the workshop for its revised muscle make-over.
After careful evaluation and measurement we tried various ways to further enhance the power.
A few options of cut cams and used in different variations resulted in a power increase high in the rev range but at the cost of almost the same gain in the lower rev range.
That would only work for the enthusiast who drives fast and hard most of the time.
What we wanted was more power and torque throughout the rev range.
We always believed right from our first encounter with the 4L V6 engine that it had plenty of hidden potential.
If you look at the intake valves you would think that they are big enough.
At 46 mm with a properly flowed head they work well.
It was only when we decided to get daring and go bigger that we realize the true potential.
We manufactured a set of forged one piece valves and made them as light as possible without compromising their strength.
We ended up 48.5 mm valves that weighed a little less that the stock 46 mm ones.
Only now were we able to see the power figures that we expected from the 4L V6.
That does not mean that we are satisfied, development will go on.
Maybe when we get to 200Kw reliably we will relax.
| All in, the already powerful V6 gets: | | Specially flowed big valve heads | | Wildcat Branches | | Free flow exhaust system “many different options” | | Unichip for optimizing ECU settings | | Optional Electronic Module to remove speed limiter | | Completely optimized air induction system | |
